Underground & Basement Construction Lighting
Underground and basement construction comes with an obvious challenge: limited natural light.
From basement fit-outs to crawl spaces, underground car parks, service areas, plant rooms and other enclosed work zones — crews need reliable temporary lighting that provides clear visibility without creating more obstacles at ground level.
The Quipt Site Light strips provide continuous LED lighting across entire work areas, with flexible installation options that adapt to below-ground construction environments.
Lighting Built for Underground Construction
Are you working in a space where natural light is minimal or completely unavailable? An LED strip light is the best option.
Instead of relying solely on individual floodlights spaced around the area, the Quipt Site Light can be suspended overhead to create a continuous run of illumination up to 100m long through the work area.
The result is bright, evenly spread lighting that stays above the workspace and can move with the project as construction progresses.
The flexible design of the Site Light makes it adaptable to a wide range of below-ground and enclosed construction environments, including:
- Basement construction and fit-outs
- Underground car parks
- Plant and equipment rooms
- Service corridors
- Storage and back-of-house areas
- Under-house and subfloor work
- Lift shafts and access areas
- Roofing and attic spaces
- Tunnels and enclosed work zones
- Maintenance and refurbishment projects
Whether you're illuminating one contained workspace or creating a lighting run through a much larger basement level, the system can be adapted to suit the layout.
Continuous Light Across Larger Areas
Traditional portable floodlights concentrate light in a particular direction. They're useful for targeted task lighting, but create harsh shadows and dark spots unless you set up multiple units to achieve adequate coverage.
An LED strip takes a different approach. Quipt Site Lights can run through corridors, around work zones and across large basement areas, distributing light along the length of the strip rather than from a handful of individual points.
This makes it easier to establish consistent temporary lighting across areas where daylight can't be relied on to fill the gaps left by spotlights.

Choose Between 240V and Battery-Powered Site Lighting
Different construction environments have different access to temporary power, which is why Quipt offers both 240V and battery-powered Site Lights.
240V Site Light
For larger basement levels and underground construction areas with access to temporary power, our 240V Site Light LED Strip provides a high-output continuous lighting solution.
It’s available in 15m, 25m and 50m lengths, and multiple lights can be linked to create runs of up to 100 metres.
Each model also comes on a compact storage drum, making it easy to transport, deploy and pack away.
18V Battery Site Light
Working somewhere without convenient access to power?
Our Battery Site Light delivers 10 metres of portable LED lighting powered by an 18V tool battery.
It's useful for short maintenance projects, inspections, early-stage works, small spaces and and isolated areas where temporary mains power isn't yet available or practical.
Makita, Milwaukee and DeWalt battery compatibility options are available.
